Treatment Philosophy
The addiction treatment philosophy at Destination Hope is not complex, however it is very profound. We believe that a caring, inclusive and compassionate goal oriented environment is ideal for the long-term sobriety of our clients. We provide a level of care in our residential style and intensive outpatient programs that is rarely seen in any treatment center across the United States. Our treatment team and drug rehab facilities are dedicated solely and completely to the recovery of our clients, the identification and elimination of the underlying issues that affect the addiction and to the long-term coping mechanisms that allow our clients to experience life in recovery – drug and alcohol free.
Drug and alcohol addiction not only affects the addict, but the family, friends and loved ones around them. We understand that addiction is a multifaceted disease and family, friends and loved ones can both cause addiction and be greatly affected by addiction. Therefore we believe in including family and loved ones in any treatment program we develop for our clients. Creating an atmosphere for healing both the addict and their families allows for more effective addiction treatment and offers our clients the additional support they need after they leave our program.
Our facility and community housing is intimate, designed for 18 women. Our small size allows the individualized and concentrated care that is the cornerstone of our philosophy. We understand and appreciate the confidence and trust our clients are putting in us, and as a result we believe it is supremely important to make sure that each receives the treatment they deserve. Each client will receive a complete course of individual therapy. They will work with their addiction counselor to identify the root causes of their addiction and developed skills and mechanisms to fight the temptation of drugs or alcohol in the future. The skills that they will learn in treatment will not only help them remain sober for the rest of their lives, but will also help them in their daily interactions with their families, friends and those in the community around them. A sense of community is an important part of addiction treatment and that’s why we believe in group therapy sessions as well. Being an active part of a group and being able to open up to your peers is an important step in healing. Group therapy sessions allow the addict to regain a sense of trust in the people around them and the women in the program are able to bond with each other developing constructive relationships that can last a lifetime.
We also believe in gender specific treatment. Destination Hope’s Women’s Program is dedicated to helping women heal from addiction, trauma, and mental health issues in a female-only client environment. This allows for greater focus on treatment and fewer distractions that come with having the opposite gender involved in treatment. We have found that women who are part of the community of their peers are more likely to successfully recover and learn to avoid future substance abuse more effectively.
