Intensive Outpatient Programs

Intensive outpatient drug rehab also known as IOP is meant for addicts who are able to continue with their day-to-day lives, but still need a degree of supportive addiction treatment. Intensive Outpatient Programs are ideal for women who have completed our residential style treatment program and wish to continue a modified, part-time program. This transition provides you with support while adjusting back to normal daily life and responsibilities. Former clients can reap significant benefits by combining an outpatient program with the many support resources available to recovering addicts at Destination Hope. The Intensive Outpatient Program is also a good fit for women who cannot commit to the full-time nature of residential style treatment programs and can only attend treatment for a few hours a day.

Our Intensive Outpatient Programs are considered an intermediate level of care and offer many of the same benefits of the traditional full-time treatment program, however the amount of time spent in rehab is significantly reduced.  Outpatient drug treatment will usually take the form of concentrated and focused rehab protocols 3 to 4 days a week for 3 to 4 hours per day. Because of the part-time nature of IOP, Destination Hope requires the addict to commit to at least six weeks of care. This allows enough time to begin addressing and correcting the issues that may be causing the substance abuse or addiction. Destination Hope’s outpatient drug treatment program is very successful because of the traits that make our treatment facility different from many others around the country:

  • Destination Hope’s outpatient drug rehab program is limited in its size which allows for a greater degree of individual attention and personalized care. Having the ability to address issues immediately and effectively allows for the addict to progress in recovery more quickly and more completely.
  • Like our residential style treatment program, Destination Hope’s IOP is also gender specific. This means that the women who enter our program will be able to focus on their treatment and will not have to worry about any potential discomfort in our group therapy sessions. The women in our program will also have the opportunity to bond with one another and many great friendships have been created by sharing in each others’ adversity.
  • The family therapy protocols in our outpatient drug treatment program are as strong as they are in other levels of care at Destination Hope. Families and personal relationships are most often the root cause of addiction and working on family and social issues with the addict and their loved ones in tandem can often help resolve these deep seated problems.

Despite the effectiveness of our Intensive Outpatient Programs, outside of treatment the addict will be exposed to their normal environment on a daily basis. With less structure and supervision, clients in the IOP program need to have an exceptional degree of commitment to their sobriety in order to be successful. If you think that your home environment is not a stable place to continue your recovery, Destination Hope can help you find a sober living environment that meets your needs.
