What is Percocet?

The major brand name of Endo Pharmaceutical’s (North America) acetaminophen and oxycodone blend narcotic painkiller is Percocet.  It is used to treat moderate to severe short-term (acute) pain and is a synthetic opiate-based analgesic or painkiller.  Because of the fact that it is so widely prescribed for pain, it is widely distributed and trafficked illegally.  Along with several other prescription painkillers, the DEA now considers Percocet as a major drug threat in several states.
