Court ordered treatment is at the center of a debate among legislators in Florida, where one out of every 10 inmates has been incarcerated for using drugs and lawmakers are desperately searching for a way to put a stop to the drug-crime cycle that’s plaguing the state. Let’s face it, the “celebutantes” and offspring of the rich and famous have made court ordered treatment for drugs and alcohol related offenses as opposed to a jail sentence look like a bit of a joke. After countless DUIs and drug charges, they somehow seem to always avoid jail time and end up in the cushiest rehabs the country has to offer, spending their “treatment” doing yoga and getting massages every day with complete privacy and segregation from the rest of the facility.
