At Destination Hope, we are constantly growing and molding our programs to respond to the needs of our clients, which is why we are proud to announce the opening of our brand new Wellness Center. Our hope is to heal clients through holistic treatments that recreate the way they think and live—by erasing negative thought processes, developing more positive pathways for the mind and improving the way clients react to the world around them.
Our Wellness Center offers clients chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, exercise and biofeedback therapies in order to deal with behavioral and physical health issues. This results in lower stress levels, more emotional comfort and decreased pain while going through treatment. The new upgrade also includes the addition of the very latest innovation in addiction treatment, Biosound™ Therapy.
Biosound™ Therapy integrates biofeedback, music therapy, sound frequency massage and guided imagery into one platform to soothe the client’s mind and guide them into a peaceful state. These therapies take place on the Biolounge, a vibrational lounger constructed of memory foam that is integrated with an audio and visual system. It is a highly intuitive, interactive piece of equipment that allows clients to lie back and relax throughout their therapy session.
The Biolounge works by inducing relaxation and a deep meditative state through rhythmic beats and vibrations. It is able to read heart rhythm patterns, synchronize the body’s nervous system and develop mindfulness and awareness through positive affirmations. The program involves several challenge levels so that the client can ease into treatment and continue growing through higher intensity sessions. This helps them achieve a higher level of coherence and push their intellectual and physical boundaries.
Biofeedback, one tool used in Biosound™ Therapy, teaches clients how to harness the power of their mind by increasing awareness of what is happening in their bodies and gaining control over every aspect of their health. Therapists monitor functions such as heartbeat, breathing rate, blood pressure, temperature and more through sensors that are attached to the body.
Several screens are set up around the chair to project the readings and allow clients to see the physical response their body emits while experiencing various stimuli. Eventually, they are able to understand what environmental factors trigger which reactions and learn how to control them—they’re able to lower their heart rate, decrease their blood pressure and even relieve chronic pain.
Biosound’s™ cutting-edge technology provides the client with a number of benefits. Its primary goal is to help treat depression, anxiety and stress by minimizing racing thoughts and relaxing the mind and body.
Guided imagery is designed to address the guilt, fear, shame and trauma many people who face addiction or mental health issues deal with every day.
By relieving these negative emotions and replacing them with positive ones, the client is able to overcome deeply rooted issues and enter into a state of tranquility. Clients are also taught certain techniques to manage their emotions and physical reactions to the environment through biofeedback therapy. All of these benefits lead to a reduced turnover rate and longer time spent in treatment, as clients are more receptive to therapy and more responsive to what their therapist has to say.
